During the investment period, FEP’s team attempts to centralize and integrate core F&B functions across all of its portfolio companies and outsource non-core activities. The ultimate aim is to help the original founders of the portfolio companies to focus on maximizing revenues and control expenditure in order to achieve health bottom line performance. Engazat Misr currently owns and operates 5 portfolio companies.

The postacquisition plan is to expand the business across several product lines as well as enhance its market share.

FEP Role : NOG Investment Company was established to invest and manage restaurants and cafes in Egypt. In 2015, FEP advised its affiliate Engazat Misr on acquiring a majority stake in the company which currently owns 6 restaurants and café businesses in Egypt. NOG is aiming to expand operations by further acquisitions as well management mandates for third party restaurants and café both within Egypt and the GCC.

FEP Role : Crumbs is a home grown brand specializing in baked desert such as cakes, cupcakes and finger sweets. Established in 2009, Crumbs expanded to 2 retail outlets and a central kitchen in Zamalek. In 2014, FEP advised on the acquisition of a majority stake in the company through its affiliate Engazat Misr. FEP and Engazat Misr will work on expanding into three new outlets and on streamlining operations by introducing technical support and management expertise.

FEP Role : Jeddy is a Middle Eastern pastry shop specializing in oriental pastries and sweets. Established in 2012 with one central kitchen and two retail locations in Cairo. In 2015, FEP and Enjazat Misr orchestrated the acquisition of a majority stake in the company. The post-acquisition plan is to expand the business by a capital increase in order to upgrade the central kitchen and increase the number of outlets.
